Five Reasons You Should Vote Early

Early Voting

I’m not going to try and convince you that you should vote. Having the awesome privilege and responsibility of making local, state, and national decisions for your future and the future of your kids and grandkids should be enough.

Just sayin’.

Early voting is already in full swing here in Arkansas. Voters can cast their ballot early until May 19 and on Primary Election Day on May 20.

Here’s five reasons you should vote early:

  1. You don’t have to wait in line. Waiting in line stinks. Voting on May 20 will have you waiting in line – voting early usually doesn’t.
  2. You get to see the inside of your courthouse. There are quite a few people who haven’t seen the inside of their local courthouse (there are some who have for the wrong reasons). Early voting at your courthouse will let you see where local government happens.
  3. You don’t feel as rushed. On Election Day, there are lines. Long lines. Voting early gives you time to read the text carefully and think long without the feeling that the people behind you are staring at you.
  4. You know that something usually comes up on Election Day. Flat tire. Kids’ soccer games. Your favorite TV show airs its season finale. Stuff comes up if you wait until the last minute – so, vote early and don’t wait.
  5. You’ll make your civics teacher proud. And we know that there’s nothing more important than that. Make ’em proud.
